On Love, Illusions and Breaking-Up

Image
Photo by David Kovalenko on Unsplash It’s a funny thing to recognise, when you do recognise, that our entire lives, we harbour this illusion of loving someone and then during later times, loving them no more; when in fact we never love them love them . Except on rare occurrences, what we do is, we love ourselves, we fall in love with the way we are being treated, with our feelings, the way we feel in their company, the way we make ourselves feel in their company. And our emotions, the intricate chemical reactions and nerve firings in our brain are our own creation out of our own fancied realities. These realities on most occasions are built upon innocent lies that we create out of our own volition. We create these images of the people we love. We tell ourselves how they are and how they are not; whether they are how we tell ourselves as they are is true or not becomes trivial as long as our illusionary reality sails through this phantasm with slight obliging aberrations. And the...

Where I Love You and You Love Me

Image
Because, why not! Photo by Manja Vitolic on Unsplash Far from here Where I hate you and you hate me There is a world where we love Not any other kind but The one where I wish to see you each morning To smell you before going to sleep Where I wish to be there when you Dream ghosts and have nightmares Where I can make your morning coffee And you can bring me my evening tea A world where I exist for you And you exist for me Where there is love and only love Take me there take me to where you are Wherever that is I don't belong here Where there is everything Everything but you And honestly nothing is enough when You are not around Slide in or let me drop by Hold me in your arms Let's welcome each other like The goodbyes we said last Let's walk back to the day We saw each other Make amends, hug little longer Argue less And kiss a little extra ...

The Wounds That Won’t Heal — The Memories That Won’t Fade

Image
Photo by Erwan Hesry on  Unsplash You try and try and try To forget that one person Get busy with work Start running, go gymming Learn that new thing, meet strangers Sleep with people your heart would not Do all things to take your mind away Away from all the memories of a past Of a life you thought you had left behind Moments you thought you had buried deep inside Everything you thought was all over But One day like a river storming through floodgates You open up Open up with old wounds That you long thought were healed and dried What did you do oh sweet child of summer? What did you do to me?

When A Text From Stranger-Until-This-Moment Warms The Cockles Of One’s Heart

Image
Strange how a hi turns to casual flirting and that flirting turns to being sweet and being sweet turns to wishing we were together, together at this very moment. Strange how people who are far far away from us say hi on social media, dating sites, and things go up. We know there are scarce chances of our meeting, we know distance is a killer but sometimes with some people, these barriers just don’t make sense. It feels like something is better than nothing at all. We may not meet in future or maybe someday our paths will cross but right now, the way our hearts feel reading each other’s texts; that’s special. That’s strangely special. The happy-smiling-curl our lips draw when reading those texts is more special than the ones we have in the midst of a crowd of friends in any room. For some time now, I have tried to understand it, deduct answers to why, but so far, there are no specific answers I can come up with. We know, long distance hardly works, especially if you have never m...

Looking Back — When Someone Leaves You Wanting More

Image
Photo by Jonatan Pie on Unsplash Looking back I wish I had hugged you Little longer than I already did. I wish I had stayed till sunrise to Savor coffee in bed together And not left in between I wish we had met earlier than When we did Spent days than hours I wish we had night to ourselves To sleep under the sky With stars and moon to guard I wish we were together Breathing heavy and in Each other’s arms and not distance apart I wish.

I Love You — Can We Fall In Love, Please?

Image
It is crazy how after a hi And crazy exchange of flirting You send that I love you text Everyone after few texts nowadays Is asking if we can fall in love with As if they are asking to put jeans on Or to sign on those dotted lines It doesn’t work like that You don’t love because you want to That is how you have sex And that is alright Few need it as an entry filter before calling each other a couple And that is alright too But Love, it just happens without validation and screenings There is no starting point for love I love you is not the start It is just the officiating It begins long before you utter those words Long before you know it, it just blooms inside Read My Old Poem Here !

Has It Ever Happened To You?

Image
Dakota Johnson from Fifty Shades Has it ever happened to you? That you are in bed with someone Your bodies touching each other But you aren’t there altogether Your mind is wandering elsewhere In some other bed, someone else’s arms Smelling a body alien to one you are in with now Smooching a face far away from this room Has it ever happened to you…

When They Tell You They Want To Disappear

Image
They will tell you They wanna disappear Far away from the madness of this world Away from hate, failures, breakups, heartbreaks They wanna walk into wilderness Into open fields and clear streams Jungles where elephants make sounds And deers run from roaring lions Into trees that grow supporting one another A world that exists onto itself Where seeds fall down and come to life when it pours from the skies But you know what? That’s not disappearing You want to be found You are longing to be discovered You are crying to meet thyself and you will But disappear you will not You will vanish only when death embraces you When you will become one with thin air That would be disappearance… Thanks for reading above poem. The Scent, The Parting And Longing That Lives On

Image
Remember when we first met Remember when we embraced each other close That’s when I encountered your scent The one that I have still not forgotten I know we both have traveled long for now Not together but on separate paths But I remember that scent vividly That invigorating feeling it evoked Every night when I’m alone to myself I wish to join you I wish to make that scent mine I remember buying the same soap as you Thinking the scent was from it I remember buying the same perfume but It took me a while to realize it was yours alone It emanated from you and you alone I remember hugging you tight at times Just to get that scent on my body I remember breathing heavy beside you Losing myself in the scent I had so badly Fallen in love with I remember us parting on good terms I remember that day so well when we called it off I remember it I wanted an embrace, a close one, for one last time I couldn’t ask I stood there thinking how to ...

The Most Annoying And Cringe-worthy Part About Texting Is…

Image
There’s some charm about texting. I feel one really is more freer than he or she is face-to-face. The flirt in you really comes alive and shines there. But in contrast to a conversation over coffee or brunch, texting has its own downsides. I’m not actually talking about a slow text-er or someone who only replies to your long texts with ‘hmm’, ‘ok’, ‘yup’ etc. They no doubt are absolute putdowns. But they only disappoint you. They don’t scare you. But there are occasional, very rare moments in chats which mess with your mind, those that scare the shit out of you. The moment when you ask yourself, wait, what did I just do? Most of the times when chats go long and deep, you get your mojo going, and juices just flow. You say stuff without worrying about their consequences. You feel confident that this won’t be misunderstood or that sarcastic remark which is so obvious, they’ll get. But no, that’s not how it unfolds. Suddenly, all of a sudden, person from the other...

It’s Long Since We Became Us — A Short Poem About Love and Lust

Image
It’s long since I pulled you close It’s long since we hurt each other It’s long..  It’s long since our fingers intertwined It’s long since ours laughs synced It’s long..  It’s long since you called me yours It’s long since I became yours It’s long..  It’s long since you held me close It’s long since I breathed heavy It’s long..  It’s long since you beat my lip It’s long since I bit that neck It’s long since we became us It’s long… Thanks for reading. Haiku #1: Matsuo Bashō who Traveled 1200 Miles by Foot, What is Haiku and My First Successful Haiku!

Image
Long long ago, in 1689 a Japanese poet Matsuo Bashō set out on an epic 1,200-mile journey through the then narrow roads of Japan. He wrote his travel account in the form of poetry (haiku) and also prose. This poetic travel works added lustre to his reputation which continues till today. Like Shakespeare for west, Bashō is to Japan. More so as everyone in Japan can recite at least one of Bashō’s poem by heart. The part of the route he traveled is traveled by thousands of people today in memory of the great poet. People go to pilgrimage at his birth and burial sites. Bashō today is part of Japanese culture. In his masterpiece, Oku no Hosomichi, or Narrow Road to a Far Province, as first entry Bashō writes, “Each day is a journey, and the journey itself home” That was 300 years ago. Today, Bashō is mostly remembered world over for Haiku. What is Haiku? It’s a Japanese form of poetry which uses few words to capture a moment into reader’s mind. Unlike other forms of poetry,...
